Request to move article Pablo Casals incomplete

[edit]

You recently filed a request at Wikipedia:Requested moves to move the page Pablo Casals to a different title - however your proposal is either incomplete or has been contested as being controversial. As a result, it has been moved to the incomplete and contested proposals section. Requests that remain incomplete after five days will be removed.

Please make sure you have completed all three of the following:

  1. Added {{move|NewName}} at the top of the talk page of the page you want moved, replacing "NewName" with the new name for the article. This creates the required template for you there.
  2. Added a place for discussion at the bottom of the talk page of the page you want to be moved. This can easily be accomplished by adding {{subst:RMtalk|NewName|reason for move}} to the bottom of the page, which will automatically create a discussion section there.
  3. Added {{subst:RMlink|PageName|NewName|reason for move}} to the top of today's section here.

If you need any further guidance, please leave a message at Wikipedia talk:Requested moves or contact me on my talk page. - JPG-GR (talk) 17:16, 9 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

P. Casals

[edit]

Greetings Ssola, the article on Casals clearly states that he was born and christened Pau, that he was fervently anti-Franco and that he was proud to be Catalan. What is there in the article that says anything different? The article here at the English-language Wikipedia must be headed Pablo Casals because that is the name he was known by to the many English speakers who appreciated his wonderful music over the many years he was actively delighting his audiences. Please help us maintain a high level for the article and if you can add any information to improve the article, please do so. Regards, --Technopat (talk) 16:52, 11 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Reverted Casals move

[edit]

Please do not move without seeking consensus. Several editors have explained to you why such a move is currently not to be recommended. Is there any point that is still not clear for you, because I shall be happy to explain it (again) if necessary, though there really isn't much else to explain. But just to save time:

i. No one doubts that Casals' name at birth was Pau, that is not the matter - for the English-speaking public he was always known as Pablo;

ii. The Wikipedia Manual of Style naming convention clearly states that the name most commonly used - in English for the English-language Wikipedia - is to be used;

iii. Wikipedia is based on a) verifiability (not necessarily on the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth) and b) on reaching consensus;

iv. Why don't you try reaching consensus instead of imposing your beliefs? I'm sure some of us out here are perfectly reasonable and would respond adequately to reasonable proposals. Look forward to meaningful communication. --Technopat (talk) 17:41, 21 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Chicxulub animation

[edit]

Hi. Unfortunately, I only uploaded the animation, and didn't create it. I'm not sure why it won't loop. --Der Wohltemperierte Fuchs (talk) 22:54, 7 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
